Mission Bay Park
Mission Bay Park is the largest man-made aquatic park in the country, consisting of 4,235 acres, approximately 46% land and 54% water. The park offers a wide range of recreational activities including paths for walking and jogging, and playgrounds for children. It is one of San Diego's most popular locations to fly a kite, picnic or sail a model yacht. Fire rings make it possible to cook out and stay warm. Mission Bay Park also offers a variety of free opportunities to the public such as professional volleyball and Over-the-Line sporting event.

Coronado - 5 minutes from downtown

Coronado Island

Just a short drive over the beautiful Coronado Bridge and you’re enjoying miles of beaches, unique shopping, and fine dining. La Jolla Cove
Discover a protected marine sanctuary just perfect for a safe swimming and snorkeling experience. La Jolla Children’s Pool
Close to downtown La Jolla, the Children’s Pool is a small cove protected by a concrete breakwater. It was once a swimming area for children until the seals and sea lions took over. Now visitors can sunbathe and enjoy the added bonus of an ongoing marine mammal show courtesy of the seals and sea lions that play in and around the shore or at Seal Rock, their offshore reserve.

Torrey Pines State Beach
Torrey Pines offers a popular beach right off the highway, with lifeguards and bathrooms for beach activities. Or take the high road to the top of the beautiful sandstone cliffs to experience some of the finest hiking in San Diego County. Hiking Trails meander through the reserve’s Torrey Pines, wildflowers, and other native plants, and the panoramic ocean views cannot be beat! Three miles of beach make up the Torrey Pines State Beach. Stay to the north if you don’t want to run into the nudist beach to the south.

Scripps Birch Aquarium
Located on a coastal bluff overlooking La Jolla Shores beach and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Birch Aquarium at Scripps is renowned for its ocean views, both inside and out. Carlsbad Flower Fields
